Americans weigh in: Should Biden run for reelection?
Alexandria, Virginia – Americans in a Washington suburb have wondered if they think President Biden should run for re-election in 2024.
“No, I don’t think he should run for re-election,” said one woman, Frances, to Fox News in Alexandria, Virginia.
“He should appoint another Democrat candidate who can take over where he left off and be the centrist,” she continued. “This group called a squad is off the track and is giving the Democratic Party a bad name.”
But Allen disagreed with that.

Biden has reportedly told former President Barack Obama he plans to seek re-election, two anonymous sources told The Hill. One said Biden does not believe any other Democrat can defeat former President Donald Trump.

It has long been debated whether Biden would run again in 2024. Several people in Alexandria, where around 80% voted for Biden in 2020, believed the 79-year-old president should not run again due to his age.
“I think he’s doing a pretty good job now, given his age, but the fact that I’m getting old myself, I know what it’s like,” said Beverly, a Democrat, to Fox News.

Another man who spoke to Fox News agreed.
“No, because he is incompetent,” the man said. “I’m not political, but from what I see, it reminds me of someone with dementia.”

Others, like Frances, thought the opportunity should go to someone else.
“No, I don’t think he should run,” one of the women who voted for Biden in 2020 told Fox News. “I think at this point he should give his vice president a chance.”
