Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s relationship is under scrutiny as the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star libel lawsuit against his ex-wife is pending before the world.

As the former “21 Jump Street” star testified at a Fairfax County Court hearing in Fairfax, Virginia on Tuesday and Wednesday in his libel lawsuit against Heard, 35, Depp and Heard made headlines.

About her upbringing, Heard told Vanity Fair in 2014: “My dad is a typical old school Texan. He loves to hunt. We ate what he killed six days a week. He took me to the shooting range, whenever I could, I was holding a gun and practicing aiming almost all my life.”

He heard that she had aspirations that Texas couldn’t offer her. “When I was 16, it became clear that I couldn’t fit into the machine I was provided with,” she said.

Heard left Lone Star state for the Big Apple, but moved quickly to Los Angeles, which he now calls home. Even so, Heard kept Texas in his heart – not in the mirror – even taking Depp with him on his home visit.

In the same interview, Heard said that she hid her acting aspirations from her parents.

“I traveled a lot without telling them that I had moved out because it was easier to do in outbursts. When I was 17 I was renting a room in LA, ”she recalled dropping out of high school and earning it. GED.

Regarding her acting career, Heard landed roles in “The Adderall Diaries”, “Magic Mike XXL”, “Dance Girl” and the 2018 hit “Aquaman” in which Depp reportedly tried to replace Heard.

Two years later, Heard faced a difficult battle again, this time in the form of “paid rumors and paid social media campaigns”, seeking her replacement in the sequel “Aquaman”. She closed these rumors in 2020.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently due out in 2023.

Depp testified that the couple didn’t have much interaction on the set of “Rum Diary” until they filmed the shower scene in 2012.

Later that day, Heard, 35, visited Depp, 58, in his trailer and the two kissed again.

They didn’t resume their relationship until about two years later, when they returned for a press briefing for the film. In Depp’s own words, it wasn’t until the end of filming that Depp chased Heard.

“It was in my head so I tracked it down,” recalled Depp in 2016. “We tracked each other. We’ve tracked each other. In fact, it was amazing, by the way. It was on the first day of the press, “Dziennik Rumu”. And on the same day we got married.”

The couple tied the knot in the Bahamas in 2015.

During his testimony on Wednesday, Depp explained why his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, was not present at the wedding for 20 people.

“My daughter Lily-Rose didn’t come to the wedding. She and Mrs. Heard were not on particularly good terms for several reasons, ”he testified. Depp further shared that Heard’s current relationship with Lily-Rose and his son Jack “does not exist.”

Depp also shared that the wedding was a night during which “dinner, dancing and drugs” took place. He smoked his “drug of choice,” marijuana, while Heard and her buddies had “a shared MDMA pouch.”

Depp testified that after the wedding he tried to persuade Heard to sign a wedding deal after repeatedly trying to get her to sign a premarital marriage.

“My daughter Lily-Rose didn’t come to the wedding. She and Mrs. Heard were not on particularly good terms for several reasons.”

“There always seemed to be a reason why she either didn’t talk about it, or if we did talk about it, it turned into a problem that would cause unpleasantness and argument,” he said.

In 2016, Heard filed for divorce.

Divorce downfall

Depp returned to his witness stand on Wednesday and said that things had started to change in his marriage when he felt he was “suddenly just wrong about everything” in Heard’s eyes. Depp also said he felt like he was marrying his aggressive late mother.

“When you start to realize you’re in a relationship with your mother – and I know it sounds perverse and blunt – but the fact is, some people look for weaknesses in people,” Depp told the jurors. He said he shared his deepest childhood traumas with Heard and claimed she used it against him.

“All the more it became ammunition for Mrs. Heard to either verbally decimate me or make me feel confused and depressed,” Depp said as Heard, wearing a white jacket with gold buttons, stared at him perplexedly.

He said that the actress of “Aquaman” could never be wrong on anything, and he “suddenly got it wrong.”

Depp said there was frequent violence, sometimes with a slap or thrust from Heard or his wife throwing a TV remote control or a glass of wine in his face.

“There were times when I would just walk and lock myself in the bathroom or a place she couldn’t get to,” Depp said.

Depp said he used drugs and drank alcohol as a way to deal with Heard’s alleged abuse and said she was also a drunk. Depp said he stopped drinking at one point in order to try to save the relationship, but Heard refused to abstain.

As news of the divorce spread, Heard and Depp’s teams issued a joint statement. Depp said he has already left the city for New York to prepare for the tour. When asked if he approved the statement, Depp said he believed it was drafted by lawyers and that he “didn’t have much choice.”

At the time, Depp’s lawyers fired, claiming that the statement issued by Heard’s lawyers was false.

Breakup bombshells

When the first news of divorce emerged, the alleged details of their marriage began to surface. Heard has claimed that Depp was verbally and physically abusive during their relationship. She submitted – and was granted – a temporary restraining order against the actor from domestic violence.

Depp began discussing Heard’s accusations in detail on Wednesday. Heard said she was first attacked when Depp slapped her in 2013 after making fun of the tattoo he had. The tattoo once said “Winona Forever” when he was dating actress Winona Ryder, whom he changed to “Wino Forever” after they broke up.

“It didn’t happen,” he said of the alleged assault. “Why would I offend someone who makes fun of the tattoo on my body so much? This accusation never made sense to me.”

He later referred to an alleged 2014 robbery of a private flight from Boston to Los Angeles. Heard said Depp had passed out and attacked her while in an airplane.

Depp testified that he had taken two oxycodone pills – the opiate he admitted he was addicted to at the time – locked himself in the bathroom of the plane and fell asleep to avoid harassing her.

Depp testified that he only drank a glass of champagne when boarding the plane. But according to evidence presented at a similar lawsuit in England, where Depp sued the British tabloid – a failed lawsuit – Depp texted his friend, actor Paul Bettany, and mentioned drinking half a bottle of whiskey, “a thousand Red Bull vodkas.” “And two bottles of champagne before the flight.

Depp also discussed a violent quarrel in 2015 – shortly after his wedding – in Australia, which resulted in the tip of his middle finger being cut off.

He said Heard was annoyed that Depp’s lawyers asked her to sign a wedding contract.

He said she threw two bottles of vodka at him, the other of which exploded where he put his hand on the basement bar, severing his finger to where the bone had been exposed.

“I don’t know how a nervous breakdown feels, but it’s probably the first time I’ve ever been,” he said.

Depp said he started writing on the walls with his own blood to tell lies he caught Heard on.

Depp told hospital doctors that he injured himself, and the modern text messages presented as evidence refer to Depp injuring himself. Depp testified that he had lied about the cause of the injury in order to protect her. In introductory statements, Heard’s lawyers said the laws of physics did not support Depp’s story and would present evidence to prove it.

Last fight

Depp, who claims he called it breaking up with Heard on the same day his mother died, also provided a pictorial account of the last fight as the pair was headed for divorce, accusing Heard and her friends of pretending to attack her. Shortly thereafter, Heard demanded a restraining order and was photographed with marks on her face.

He testified that Heard was on the phone with a friend, shouting, “Stop hitting me, Johnny!” though he was nowhere near her.

The quarrel began when Depp said that after his mother died, he realized it was time for the couple to break up. He said the argument had escalated when Depp accused her of leaving human excrement on his side of the bed in the apartment they shared. He said Heard kept denying it, blaming their little dogs for it, but was convinced he was lying.

“There was human waste on my side of the bed,” he recalled. “I was laughing. It was so outside, it was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh.”

Depp previously accused Heard or one of her friends of defecating in bed. But Heard denied it, blaming feces on her cups on Yorkies.

“I have lived with these dogs for many years,” said Depp. “It doesn’t come from the dog. Simply do not.”

In his testimony, Depp said that one of the reasons he remained in his toxic marriage with Heard for so long was the threat of suicide.

He claimed that Heard had mentioned suicide several times and that it terrified him.

“When I was going out sometimes, she would stop me at the elevator with bodyguards, crying, screaming,“ I can’t live without you! I will die! ” – he recalls.

Their divorce was finalized in 2017. Depp testified on Wednesday that he had agreed to pay Heard a $ 7 million divorce settlement this year.

Moving on from Depp

In 2016, after her breakup with Depp, rumors began circulating that Heard was dating Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The two confirmed the relationship in 2017 when they were photographed together in Australia.

Musk was named as a witness in Depp’s trial. Depp previously claimed that Heard began an affair with Musk just a month after Depp and Heard were married in 2015. Musk has denied the allegations.

In a statement to Fox News Digital at the time, a Musk representative said: “Elon and Amber didn’t start seeing each other until May 2016, and even back then it was rare. They weren’t on the same continent most of that time. Their relationship didn’t become romantic until much later.”

Meanwhile, actor James Franco – with whom Heard was not publicly associated, although Depp claimed the two were also having an affair – reportedly testifies after surveillance footage showed him entering the elevator with Heard about 24 hours after one of Depp’s alleged brawls and Heard.

The op-ed

On the Depp-Heard divorce front, there was silence until Depp sued Heard after she wrote a 2018 article in The Washington Post titled “I Spouted Against Sexual Violence – and faced the anger of our culture.” It has to change “into which she described as” a public figure representing domestic violence.”

Depp testified on Wednesday that the effects of Heard’s article found him a perpetrator of violence were swift.

“I don’t think it took Disney long, maybe a few days, before it was announced that I was removed from the Pirates of the Caribbean series,” he said. “I’ve lost nothing less than everything.”

But, he said, the real damage started when she made the first accusations.

“Because of the charges, I will live with it for the rest of my life,” he told the jury. “It was such a big, high-profile case that I lost then, no matter the outcome of the process.”

During the interrogation, one of Heard’s defenders, Ben Rottenborn, pressured Depp that the actor’s name was not mentioned in the article, to which Depp explained that he found it very easy to write an article without pointing the finger at someone.

Additionally, Rottenborn provided an article stating that Disney had already retired from Depp for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” section, contrary to the Black Mass star’s allegation that Heard’s article cost him the role.

Depp’s hearing will continue on Thursday and will mark his third day at the booth.

In a separate lawsuit by Depp against a British newspaper, the judge dismissed the case, stating that Depp had attacked Heard several times and repeatedly exposed her to fear for her life.

Heard has filed a lawsuit against Depp, who accuses his lawyers of defamating her on his orders.
